More than 35 years as an Agronomist in the agricultural sector. 10 years in the Government as an Agricultural Extension Officer and more than 25 years in the Oil Palm & Rubber Industry with Kumpulan Guthrie Berhad/Tropicrop. Conducted assessment studies, agronomic visit, feasibility studies, suitability & assessment studies and had undertake numerous preparation of development plans in Africa, South America, and ASEAN countries. Currently managing more than 80,000 ha of Oil Palm & Rubber Plantation in Indonesia. Good communication skills in English, Malay and Bahasa Indonesia. Fair in several Chinese Dialects.

With an agricultural & horticultural training behind him, Mr. Harun has more than 28 years experience in the agricultural sector. He has been a biotechnologist developing tissue cultured oil palm seedlings to developing new commercial crops. He has also used his knowledge to conduct landscaping work while in the Guthrie Group and PKPS in various parts of Malaysia. In Tropicrop, he has conducted numerous agronomic visits, suitability studies, soil assessment studies and feasibility studies to our clients all over the world – from Malaysia to Honduras & Nicaragua. As a well traveled man, his skills and knowledge acquired benefits not only our clients but also strengthens our in-house advisors and associates. He is conversant and fluent in English, Malay and Bahasa Indonesia.

Mr. Chua Kim Soon, Anthony

Area of Speciality : 40 years experience in both Oil Palm and Rubber Conducts Assessment, Management, and routine agronomic and PA visits for clients in Indonesia, Sarawak & Sabah

With over 40 years experience in both Oil Palm and Rubber, he spent 28 years in Felda rising from an Agricultural Officer to retire as the Senior Visiting Agent in Felda Plantation Bhd. He took up assignment as the General Manager of 2 companies in Indonesia before joining Tropicrop. He has travelled widely to Africa and South America besides conducting Assessment, Management, and routine agronomic and PA visits to our clients in Indonesia, Sarawak & Sabah. His years of experience put him well above many in the agricultural consulting business.

Mr. Chiang has over 40 years in the Plantation Industry. From a Trainee Conductor in Sime Darby, he rose to become the Regional Controller of WTK Group in Sarawak. He was in IOI Sabah and also a Senior Manager with Berkat Setia in Telupit Sabah. His exposure to different management approaches and implementation has increased the in-house knowledge by injection of new ideas he brings with him. He has been assigned by Tropicrop to conduct several management and PA visits in Indonesia and Sabah.agronomic and PA visits to our clients in Indonesia, Sarawak & Sabah. His years of experience put him well above many in the agricultural consulting business.

Mr. Lai Fook Theam

40 years in the field of agriculture Specialist and lead assessor in conducting numerous soil and suitability assessment studies in various states of Malaysia

Mr. Lai has over 40 years in the field of agriculture. Starting with the Department of Agriculture as an Extension Officer, he retired 34 years later as Deputy Director of the Integrated Agricultural Development Project the State of Penang. His assignment as an Agronomist has seen him being the specialist and lead assessor in conducting numerous soil and suitability assessment studies in various states in Malaysia. His experience and skills in assessment studies has been beneficial to the success of numerous projects by investors. A disciplined man with vast experience in assessment studies, his contribution to the plantation industry is both timely and well placed at this time when there is an increased interest to expand investment in the plantation sector.

Mr. Wong Wuey Chuen

Area of Speciality : 7 years of experience as a Business Development Manager

Wuey Chuen joined the Tropicrop Group after getting several years of experience in the Human Resource sector. With 7 years of experience behind him and now as a Business Development Manager, he endeavors to put together and further enhance presentation of proposals and reports presentations. His youth and exuberance will further inject vibrant ideas to the group.

With 14 years of experience in Business Development, Marketing and Procurement

With 14 years of experience in Business Development, Marketing and Procurement in the consumer goods industry, Wuen brings a wealth of experience in Client Management, New Business Development and also Financial & Cash-flow analysis. His core skills are the preperation of Cash-flow Statements, P&L Projections, and Financial Management Analysis for our clientèle. Having also received training in Felda Plantations and also attending numerous plantation management seminars, he has positioned himself well within the Tropicrop Group to undertake Feasibility and Assessment studies, coupled with Business Development plans. He currently undertakes to make management visits to our' clients' oil palm estates primarily in Indonesia and Sabah. He's contribution enhances the many assignments of the Tropicrop Group.

Mr. Bobby Yap Cheng Lock

B.sc (Plt Biotech, Aust.), M.Sc (Environment Management, Nottingham University)

Area of Speciality : Conducted extensive Agronomic visits to various estates in Malaysia and Indonesia

As an Agronomist, Bobby has travelled extensively to various estates in Malaysia and Indonesia to visit plantations to conduct Agronomic visits. He also is tasked with the computation of our client's annual Fertilizer & Assessment studies for the Group. His involvement in Plantation Management further enhances the overall improvements of the projects undertaken by the Tropicrop Group.

Premkumar Tamilarasan

B.Sc Biotechnology (UNISEL)

Area of Speciality :
12 years of experience in the oil palm industry as agronomist. Hands-on experience in various oil palm agronomy trials Conducted agronomic visit, advisory visit, feasibility study in Malaysia & Indonesia

Mr. Prem has 12 years of experience in the oil palm industry, focusing on agronomic trials related to nutrition, planting density, and pest management to improve agricultural practices. At Sime Darby, he planned and provided agronomic and fertilizer recommendations to estates and conducted agromanagement training for estate personnel. While at Tropicrop, he delivered advisory visits and feasibility studies in Malaysia and Indonesia. He is fluent in English, Malay, and Tamil.

Having graduated with a first-class degree (B.Sc. Bio-Industry) in University Putra Malaysia under the full scholarship from Yayasan Sime Darby, he started his career in Sime Darby Research Sdn Bhd spending 6 over years in Oil Palm Research Unit conducting oil palm trials and agronomic visits. His areas of expertise include conducting nutritional trials, biomass studies, oil palm dissection, weather data/measurement correlation with palm growth and yield, soil correlations, nursery cullings, fertiliser recommendations and advisories. He later joined Genting Plantations Berhad reporting to the Plantation Head Malaysia carrying the portfolio of providing and coordinating operational training (e.g. contour lining training, fertiliser and weeding efficiency, Structured Supervisory Training Programmes (SSTP) and etc). He also played the role in analysing the Genting Plantations Malaysia's estate performance and costing and producing monthly, quarterly reports to the board of directors. All these experiences mould him to be a all-rounder in both technical and management skills
